The Festival of Dionysus, represents a chance for students of the Classics department to direct, perform, and choreograph their interpretations of ancient dramas. It is one more way in which Gusties go beyond a book to learn. This picture was taken in the Fifth Festival of Dionysus in 2010.

The annual MAYDAY! Peace Conference provides the campus community and guests the opportunity to hear  presentations on peace and social justice issues. Many campus community members love the day, as campus is festival decked out with bright colors (see left). The 32nd annual conference yesterday focused on “Multicultural Sweden.”

This is a photo of the “new” gym that was installed in 1922 in the Johnson Student Union. Visitors to campus now know this space as Alumni Hall, and instead of playing basketball, students gather there to hear guest lectures and celebrate events!

The 1965 flood in April, covered the Minnesota River Valley. Citizens of St. Peter and Gustavus students and staff pitched in to build dikes and to sandbag. The mile-wide F3 tornado ripped through campus uprooting 2,000 mature trees, damaging almost every roof on campus and shattering 80% of the campus windows.

A new addition to the campus is Southwest Hall. Completed in 2005, it not only houses 190 students, but also contains a hostel area for visiting youth groups.
