Factoid Friday!

Did you know… in the 1890s, Monday was observed as the weekly holiday on campus (instead of Saturday). The goal was to discourage studying on Sundays, which was reserved for for religious observation. This changed during the OJ Johnson Administration in first part of the 20th century.

View from the Hill

This is one of the oldest pictures of Old Main. Taken in 1877, this was before there were any other buildings on the campus had been built. Can you imagine what students, faculty, and St. Peter residents thought of this grandiose building that overlooked the town?
