All you GAC Backers out there―can you imagine cheering on the Golden Gusties in a gym that looks like a railroad depot? In 1886, with the help of student fundraising, a gymnasium was built about where the O.J. Johnson Student Union now stands. The 1886-1887 school year also marks the first year that physical education became a mandatory course.
