Did you know…. In 1993 two awards were created to recognize the administrative and staff employees for exceptional service and dedication to the College. Awarded each year on “Founders Day” (Oct. 31 the day Old Main was dedicated), the Eric Norelius Award goes to a deserving administrator and the Augusta Carlson Schultz Award goes to an outstanding support staff member. Schultz was one of the first support staff hired at the college. She was 16 years old in the late 1880s when she went to work in dining services. Her many years of dedication to the College reminds us of the dedication it takes to keep Gustavus running smoothly. Next Monday, we honor those who help the College maintain its excellence.
